Last updated: June 10, 2026

Original artworks (paintings)

The artworks offered are unique artistic creations, made and shipped with the utmost care.

Right of withdrawal

In accordance with European Directive 2011/83/EU on consumer rights, you have a period of 14 days from receipt of your order to exercise your right of withdrawal, without having to justify your decision.

Any request must be made by email to: contact@murareference.com

To protect the artist's privacy, the return address is not published on the site: it is provided to you by email upon receipt of your request.

Return conditions

To be eligible for return, the artwork must:

  • be in a condition strictly identical to that of the original shipment
  • show no trace of hanging, display, use or handling beyond a simple visual inspection
  • bear no micro-scratch, alteration or degradation, however minor
  • be returned in its original packaging, intact and perfectly protected

A thorough inspection is systematically carried out on receipt. Any depreciation resulting from handling beyond what is necessary to establish the nature and characteristics of the artwork will be subject to a deduction proportional to the loss of value observed, in accordance with Article 14 of Directive 2011/83/EU.

Costs

  • Initial shipping costs are not refunded
  • Return costs are borne by the customer
  • In the event of observed damage, a deduction may be applied to the refunded amount

Exceptions – Personalized artworks

In accordance with Article 16(c) of Directive 2011/83/EU, artworks made to measure or personalized according to the buyer's specifications are expressly excluded from the right of withdrawal.

Deposits and installment payments

For certain artworks, payment in several installments may be agreed (deposit then balance). In the event of non-compliance with the contractual terms accepted at the time of purchase, penalties may be applied in accordance with the signed contract.

Refund

The refund is made to the original payment method within a maximum of 14 days from receipt of the returned artwork, less, where applicable, the observed depreciation — in accordance with Article 13 of Directive 2011/83/EU.

Return period

You have a period of 21 days from receipt to request a return — longer than the legal minimum of 14 days set by European regulations.

Any request must be sent to: contact@murareference.com

The return address is provided to you by email upon receipt of your request.

Return conditions

The item must:

  • be unworn, unwashed and unused
  • be returned in its original condition and packaging
  • be accompanied by proof of purchase

Any item showing signs of use beyond simple trying-on may be subject to a reduced refund, proportional to the observed depreciation.

Return costs

  • First return: return costs covered by Mura
  • Subsequent returns: costs borne by the customer
  • Initial shipping costs remain at the customer's expense

Excluded items

Gift cards are not eligible for return. Items purchased on sale benefit from the same right of return as other items.

Store credit

With your agreement, store credit may be offered instead of a refund, exclusively for clothing. A refund to the original payment method always remains possible.

Refund

After receipt and verification, the refund (or issuance of store credit, if you chose it) is processed within a maximum of 14 days from receipt of the returned item, in accordance with European regulations.
