Océan de mers

« Océan de mers » is an original painting by Mura, made in acrylic on canvas. A unique piece, accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.

A blue field, dense and silent, fills the space with an almost meditative regularity. The surface, smooth in appearance, nonetheless lets fine vertical striations show through, discreet traces of a stretched, held-back gesture. Across this uniform expanse, white and blue fragments emerge, scattered with precision, as if suspended in a slow drift.

Each irregular form seems detached from the background while remaining intimately bound to it. Their distribution does not obey chance: it builds a subtle balance, a visual breathing in which the gaze moves freely. The masses answer one another at a distance, creating a light tension between dispersion and cohesion.

Light glides smoothly over the matter, revealing here and there a thickness, a tiny relief, almost imperceptible. The blue, deep but calm, acts as a mental space, a horizon without limit, while the lighter flecks introduce points of rupture, moments of suspension.

The pictorial gesture remains contained, controlled, as if each intervention had been laid down with restraint, in a deliberate economy. Nothing overflows. Everything seems measured.

The whole evokes a slowed fall, a frozen rain or a constellation in suspension. A feeling of floating settles in, silent, almost still, leaving behind an impression of calm infinity, where matter becomes trace, and the trace, memory.
